The KAMAH Association - Curative Community at Harduf was established in Kibbutz Harduf in 1993. Our work is inspired by Anthroposophy, the spiritual science developed by Dr. Rudolf Steiner, which considers each human being to be a growing and developing individual.
Our goal is to create a protected environment for children and adults who require special support, and enable them to realize their own unique potential. Kamah operates as a community within a community: our members are an integral part of Kibbutz Harduf and enrich the community as much as they are assisted by it.
The KAMAH Association operates three communities:
The Tuvia Community: A curative community for 65 at-risk children and youth in out-of-home placement.
Beit Elisha: A permanent residence and home-for-life for 65 adults with developmental disabilities.
House on the Gilboa: A newly established community in Kibbutz Merav catering specifically for religiously observant women with developmental disabilities.
The KAMAH Association also operates the Kamah Center, named after Joseph and Christina Kasierer, serving the members of the communities and operating as the nerve center of the association.
The KAMAH Association feels its curative model is imbued with humanistic values. We are striving to expand our activities by forming partnerships with other communities wishing to integrate special populations and implement this model into their work.
